In the ballroom world, two nonbinary runway divas are claiming space in a culture that has often demanded strict ideas of gender. The film follows Mermaid and Milan, “chosen sisters” whose bond is as central as any trophy. As they prepare looks, rehearse walks, and read each other with love, the camera honors their everyday labor: doing makeup, putting outfits together, and hyping each other up before they step into the spotlight.

MnM shows how spaces like ballroom can be shelters where queer and trans people practice the world they are fighting for—one where they are seen, named, and loved as they are.
