This 4-month fellowship starting April 4, 2024 provides intensive training in online and offline campaigning to build people-power in movements for justice across Asia.
SMT’s goal is to build a strong Asia-based team of campaigners and coaches. The fellowship is designed as a pipeline to fill these positions. It is open to up to 10 experienced activists, campaigners, and organizers in Asia – particularly but not exclusively based in Pakistan, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Once full, this application will no longer be viewable.
Successful graduates of the fellowship will be eligible to work as part of SMT’s Asia team on a part-time basis (can be a few hours a month in addition to their regular job). SMT also hopes to fill at least one full-time position. Fellows who are hired onto the SMT team will conduct outreach and provide training, accompaniment, and direct campaign support to Asian movements and NGOs working to build people-power towards systemic change and justice.

What comes after the fellowship is completed
Successful graduates become eligible to be hired immediately for part-time employment with SMT as an Asia Campaigning Coach/Instructor, being pulled in to help with instruction or accompaniment as needed.
