This is the first of an occasional series in which we explore tools that many organizing groups are finding useful, that provide a lot of value for cost, that are in many ways “best in their class,” and that have demonstrated a commitment to be accessible to even small-budget groups.*
With thousands of digital tools out there and more being developed all the time, SMT’s goal is to draw organizers’ attention just to those that we think are really valuable for organizing. SMT also seeks to negotiate reduced prices on these tools for smaller groups.
In this session expect demos and campaign examples from:
New/Mode
To reach decision-makers and win campaigns with tactics including click-to-call, tweetstorms, petitions, letters to the editor, and more.
Sample actions: Warren Democrats using click-to-call & tweetstorm.
People’s Bailout using click-to-call, email, and LTE.
Cost: A special pricing plan has been developed for small groups that are Tools4All Coop members
Soapboxx
To crowdsource and share video content
A member of the team at Color of Change will share how COC is using this tool.
Additional examples: Committee to Protect Medicare, Citizen Action of NY
Cost: This tool is being offered at “whatever a group can afford” over at least the coming year.
We’ll also share information on SMT’s “Tools4All” Coop as way to access important digital organizing tools at significant discounts.
